Aquarium
The Aquarium is home mostly to creatures found around the Pembrokeshire coast, displayed in tanks recreating typical local habitats such as Sandy Bays, Rocky Shores and Rock pools. Most of the sea creatures are collected by ourselves from around the Pembrokeshire coast. Some fishes are collected as babies and grown on and some are collected as eggs, hatched and reared in our nursery. Many of our marine creatures breed in their display environments.
Over one hundred species on display:
- Fishes
- Crustaceans (Crabs and Lobsters)
- Sea stars
- Sea Urchins
- Shellfish
- Anemones
- and many other Invertebrates...
You will also see Seahorses, a typical Pembrokeshire wild pond, Aquatic Reptiles (Turtles and Terrapins) and some Amphibians.
We aim to educate our visitors about our native marine wildlife and the need for its conservation. Also to highlight the plight of some exotic species in their native environments, due to either habitat loss or over fishing, these include the :-
- Axolotl
- Seahorses and
- Amphibians in general.
